Price Chopper Donates to Fireworks
Monday 30 June 2008 - 11:22:02
Montrose Area Chamber member Jeff Tyler, and Marilyn Morgan,
Chamber President, accepted a $1,000 donation from Montrose Price
Chopper store manager Richard Hachan for the July 4th fireworks.
Fireworks are compliments of C of C.
As a service to the community, the Montrose Area Chamber of Commerce will
host its annual Fourth of July community fireworks show on Friday July 4,
at Montrose Area High School's upper football field, beginning at 10 p.m.
The group's fireworks committee has contracted with Fireworks by Judy with an
even more impressive show than last year. Admission is free. Visitors may sit in
the bleachers or bring their own blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the show from
the parking lot. Chamber members will accept donations at the entrance to the
parking lot and will sell glow wands to help raise money to offset the cost of
next year's show, since the show is very expensive. Refreshments will be
available. Businesses and individuals who wish to support the fireworks show
may send donations to:
Montrose Area Chamber of Commerce, PO Box 423, Montrose, PA 18801 or
buy a mobile at local businesses.

Hopping Good Bunny Event
Friday 28 March 2008 - 14:33:08
by: Staci Wilson

Marilyn Morgan, Montrose Area Chamber of Commerce and Al Podminick, Price Chopper, join the Easter Bunny during the egg hunt at Montrose Memorial Park.
Price Chopper hosted an Easter Egg Hunt at the Montrose Memorial Park, Saturday, March 22, for children age 12 and under.
Price Chopper general merchandise manager Al Podminick said the egg hunt was a way to get involved with the community. Price Chopper also helps sponsor the annual fireworks display in Montrose, and holds Halloween and Christmas events at the store.
Divided into age groups, the children gathered up 2,000 eggs scattered on the ballfield. Although most of the eggs contained jellybeans, some had winning ticket numbers inside. Prizes included filled Easter baskets; personal stereos and a bike.
Podminick thanked the Montrose Area Chamber of Commerce, the Boy Scouts and Montrose Borough’s secretary Annette Rogers and street crew for their assistance with the event.
